The Boutchkies Family Day Care provides children with a safe, loving, clean, multi-lingual environment where they can grow and develop their skills at their own pace. The Boutchkies Family Day Care is located in a ranch-style house in a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood in White Plains, New York, on a street with very little traffic. The center is situated in the family's sunroom with skylights and sliding doors leading into the garden. This gives the children plenty of natural light throughout the day. A fenced-in garden allows us to provide regular outdoor activities and fresh air for the children when the weather permits. The Boutchkies Family Day Care is licensed by the State of New York.The founder and director of The Boutchkies Family Day Care, Geraldine Signer, was born in Lyon, France. When she was 6, her family relocated overseas to Sao Paolo, Brazil. After seven years in Brazil, they relocated again to Taipei, Taiwan, where Geraldine graduated from high school. She then studied Interior Design in London, where she also started her retail career as manager of the exclusive children clothing store Oilily. She then relocated to NYC with her husband, Robert, and continued to pursue her retail career as the Leather Goods Merchandising Manager for Louis Vuitton North America, and then as Senior Account Sales Manager for Little Marc Jacobs. After growing out of their apartment in Manhattan, Geraldine and her family relocated to White Plains in October 2007.As a working mother, Geraldine found it very difficult to find safe, loving, affordable and reliable day care. When her position was made redundant as a result of the global economic crisis, she decided to take the opportunity to make a difference to her life and to others. Geraldine created The Boutchkies Family Day Care to provide a safe, loving, clean, multi-lingual environment for children whose parents work. Geraldine is the mother of a 6 year old girl, Amelie Maya Signer, who is bilingual in French and English and a 6 months old, Chiara Louise Signer. As a result of her eclectic international childhood, Geraldine speaks English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. She can therefore offer your child an early introduction to foreign languages or can reinforce the bilingual environment you have established in your own home. Her multicultural upbringing has also given her the ability to understand and adapt rapidly to different cultures. Geraldine has completed certified training in Infant/Child and Adult CPR /AED.The Boutchkies name, for those who are curious, is a made up nick name. Geraldine and her husband called each other "boutchky" when they were dating and have since used the name to refer to themselves as a family. Since it was a loving name, she felt it was appropriate to describe her loving family enterprise.
